You should setup your analytics tracking with Google Universal Analytics. Roughly, it's three steps:
- Set up a Google account if you don't have one already
- Sign up for Google Analytics
- Add the tracking code to your website
Google will guide you through the process.
Don't forget to set up your analytics with Ecommerce tracking enabled.
For Shopify Stores
If you are the owner of a Shopify store, Shopify takes away most of the work of implementing Google Analytics on your site.
